Love yourself first

Dear Max,

I don't want to be selfish but I don't understand why do people needs a boyfriend.
I had a friend who has spent her entire life saying she didn't like dating, or marriage. Then,all of a sudden, she started dating someone, and ever since she's changed. I also found pictures of wedding dresses at her stuff.
I have another friend who changes while dating someone too. She spends all her weekends on the boyfriend's house, forgeting about her real life and her two kids.
I don't have a boyfriend, although I used to want one sometimes. But I don't anymore, they didn't want me as well and I'm learning to have some good friends instead. My best friend lives far away, I wish we lived closer because we really get along well, and I like being with him. He doesn't have a boyfriend to, but he would like to.
While I'm writing this letter to you, I'm alone in a saturday night. Saturday nights are dating nights, so, everyone I like to be with is dating right now, and I'm at home, because I don't have a boyfriend. I think boyfriends always comes first in people's preferences list.
I had another really good friend who lived here with me and was my company in saturdays nights, but he is not here anymore. He ran away one year ago, I think he left to look out for his boyfriend too.
But I like to have you to talk to. I feel less alone.
Do you understand why do people need boyfriends?
